Getting to Yes

In my recent work I have focused on examining and considering the difficulties nations and societies have encountered in understanding differences arising from religious beliefs, cultural traditions, and conflicting ideas of independence and personal freedoms.
These difficulties also extend to personal interactions when ideas can cause great disharmony and discomfort between friends and family.

My work, “Getting to Yes”, consists of two chairs placed in a conference setting, that have been wrapped in barbed wire. It is these chairs, perhaps occupied by 2 world leaders or even friends, that will be the uncomfortable seating for unresolved arguments and unsolved problems.
Front View
Continuing to sit in these chairs the occupants will suffer severe pain and only when they can vacate these chairs (perhaps having solved the problems) will the pain abate.
