Flag

"This is a flag of the people rather than a flag of nations"
My newest piece is an 8' tall 3D abstract composition made with ancient and contemporary textiles from diverse cultures.

The work addresses the current condition of diasporic societies. We have neighbours who speak in languages different from our own and who have unfamiliar customs. We seem to appear and behave in a foreign manner to each other.

The challenge for us is to create within those conditions communities that are fulfilling for us all and that can function efficiently and as complete and cohesive entities.

In that sense this is a flag of the people rather than a flag of nations.
