Fair and Square
A collaboration between Charlotte Wall and Ruth Beer, Fair and Square is a departure from their usual three-dimensional oeuvre, into an exploration of color and composition, void of any volume. It is a triptych composed of three 4’x4’ canvases.
This piece was donated and is on permanent display at the Vancouver General Hospital.

Divided into a 1’x1’ grid, the colored squares are painted in varying intensities, hues and opacities. The three panels form a 12’ x 4’ composition of abstract architectural and geometric rhythms.
“We didn’t plan the colours, they were almost entirely random.”
